A BIRTHDAY WISH
Intention, intention, intention
aghast
recast
aforementioned intention to trap attention, to cast
and reanimate invention.
Shadows eternal light casts a web of remembrance within your bones,
within the stones of the land
the crows call,
a tale of the past within the present
awaiting your discovery.
The eternal boundless wisdom available to you
in this moment, hides behind the curtain
of your own selfish desires.
And yet, here she stands
before you,
sliding your little butt
into the high chair of your youth-filled mind.
The candle flame of your birthday cake
wobbling before you glittering eyes,
your swollen heart,
your genderless breath.
The flickering flame of any hope you shall have
and so, you blow.
But despair suddenly sets in.
You,
having the hopeless, helpless, realization…
“I forgot to make a wish”
but
“No worries my darling” she gently and adoringly
whispers, as she gazes upon her despairing child,
for
she knows you’ve forgotten, she ensures you,
“you may still have your wish”.
but what is your wish?
An image flickers into your mind
an oversized sack filled to bursting…
“Santa’s sack can only hold so much…”
And then the thought,
the deep desire welling up from your heart,
A craving,
to stave off the hordes of demanding demons
whose only desire is to capture your attention
and make it their own.
A desire to set aflame the Will-subverting click bait gremlins
whose slimy bellies vibrate with pleasure
as the tip of your finger slowly caresses…
A wish for the realization of your highest potential
A wish for the recognition of you claiming
the almighty power of your own awareness.
A wish for you, standing naked,
in the desert, open air surrounding, shackles unbound
lying at your feet, thankfully forgotten
YOU
your head held high to the sun
the beginning of a journey
an empty slate
a single step into the shadow of your own mystery.
